Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
