Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
