Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
