Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 and the smooth runners 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
