Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
