Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 then the easy runners (the ships); 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Doomed are the conjecturers 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
