Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
