Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Deluded away from the Qur'an is he who is deluded. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
