Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Most surely you are at variance with each other in what you say, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
