Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
