Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
