Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
