Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
