Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
