Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 Little of the night would they slumber, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
