Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, 'So says thy Lord; He is the All-wise, the All-knowing.' 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 marked with thy Lord for the prodigal. 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority, 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 We therefore seized him and his army and threw them into the sea, while he was blaming himself. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, "You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while," 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
