Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: Peace! he answered, Peace! (and thought): Folk unknown (to me). 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 beginning to be afraid of them. But they said, "Don't be afraid"; and they gave him the good news of a son who would be endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 Then We evacuated those of the Believers who were there, 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 And in Moses (too, there is a portent) when We sent him unto Pharaoh with clear warrant, 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 It spared nothing that it reached, but blew it into broken spreads of rotten ruins. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 And the folk of Noah aforetime. Lo! they were licentious folk. 46
