Hizb 53
< random >
(O Prophet), did the story of Abraham's honoured guests reach you? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham said: “Envoys (of Allah), what is your errand?” 31 They said: Surely we are sent to a guilty people, 32 So as to let loose clods of clay on them 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And We kept a sign remaining in it, for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 And in 'Ad (there is also a sign) when We sent against them the barren wind; 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Thamud. They were told: “Enjoy yourselves for a while.” 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 Then they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
