Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 And placing it before them said: "Won't you eat?" 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 Then We evacuated there from all the believers 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And We left behind therein a portent for those who fear a painful doom. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, "A sorcerer [is this Moses,] or a madman!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
