Has the story reached you, of the honoured guests [three angels; Jibrael (Gabriel) along with another two] of Ibrahim (Abraham)? 24 When they entered upon him and said, "[We greet you with] peace." He answered, "[And upon you] peace, [you are] a people unknown. 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 and placed it before them. "Will you not eat?" he said, 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: fear not. And they gave him the tidings of a youth knowing. 28 Then his wife came up in great grief, and she struck her face and said: An old barren woman! 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 And We found not therein more than one house of the Muslims. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 There is another sign in the [tribe of] 'Ad, when We sent against them a life-destroying wind 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in Thamud (there is also a sign), when they were told: "Enjoy yourselves for a while!" 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
