Al-Dhaareyaat 2 of 3
Has there reached you the story of the honored guests of Abraham? - 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 And he set it before them, saying: Will ye not eat? 27 He felt afraid of them; but they said: "Have no fear," and gave him the good news of a wise son. 28 So his wife came screaming, and striking her forehead cried, “What! For a barren old woman?” 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ He said: What is your affair then, O apostles! 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 Then We brought forth such as were therein of the believers. 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 Then We seized him and his army and cast them all into the sea: he himself [Pharaoh] was to blame. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It did not leave aught on which it blew, but it made it like ashes. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 and they were not able to stand upright, and were not helped. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
