The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I swear by the Mountain, 1 and by the Scripture penned 2 in an exposed parchment 3 And by the Bait-ul-Ma'mur (the house over the heavens parable to the Ka'bah at Makkah, continuously visited by the angels); 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 And the swollen sea 6 surely thy Lord's chastisement is about to fall; 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 Woe, then, on that Day to all who give the lie to the truth 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 (And told:) "This is the fire which you denied. 14 “So is this magic, or are you unable to see?” 15 Roast in it. Bear it with patience or impatience, it will be the same for you. You will be requited for what you had done." 16 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight. 17 Rejoicing in that which their Lord hath vouchsafed unto them; and their Lord will protect them from the torment of the Flame. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with all kinds of fruit and meat, whatever they may desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ And young attendants like pearls within their shells, will go round. 24 And they will advance unto each other asking questions. 25 They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear, 26 "But Allah has been good to us, and has delivered us from the Penalty of the Scorching Wind. 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
