The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 Consider [God's] revelation, inscribed 2 in an exposed parchment 3 By the House Frequented. 4 and the uplifted roof 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 The punishment of your Lord is certain to come. 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 Then woe that Day to the beliers; 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 Is it magic, or you cannot see? 15 Now enter it. Whether you behave patiently or impatiently will make no difference: you are only being repaid for what you have done. 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 "Eat and drink with relish," (they will be told), (as recompense) for what you had done." 19 (They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. 20 And those who believed, and whose progeny also followed them in their faith, will be united with their offspring. We will not deprive them of their labour in the least. Every man is bound to what he does. 21 And We shall bestow on them, of fruit and meat, anything they shall desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 They will ask each other questions, 25 They will say: "Aforetime, we were not without fear for the sake of our people. 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 Before, we were supplicating to Him. He is the Giving, the Most Merciful' 28
