The Mountain (Al-Toor)
49 verses, revealed in Mecca after Prostration (Al-Sajdah) before Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO witness the Mount Sinai, 1 And by oath of a passage, written 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 Consider the surf-swollen sea! 6 Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass; 7 there is no one who could avert it, 8 On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking, 9 And the mountains will move with a visible movement. 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 such as play at plunging, 12 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 Then is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 The pious will live in bountiful Paradise, 17 Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 There they will pass a goblet to one another with neither idle talk nor sin, 23 ۞ Youths as fair as hidden pearls will be set apart to wait upon them; they will be running to and fro to serve them. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 Saying: "Aforetime, we were afraid with our families (from the punishment of Allah). 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 Formerly we had always prayed to Him. Surely He is Most Benign, Most Compassionate.” 28

ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
