The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the Mountain, 1 By a Decree inscribed 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 The house ever-peopled, 4 by the elevated canopy; 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur. 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the Day when the heaven will shake with a dreadful shaking, 9 And the mountains shall pass away passing away (altogether). 10 Woe will be to those who rejected the Truth 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 The day when they are thrust with a (disdainful) thrust, into the fire of hell 13 “This is the Hell which you used to give the lie to.” 14 "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? 15 [Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do." 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 "Eat and drink with happiness because of what you used to do." 19 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes. 20 And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought. 21 We shall provide them in abundance with such fruit and meat as they desire. 22 There they pass from hand to hand a cup wherein is neither vanity nor cause of sin. 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 And some of them draw near to others, questioning. 25 They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah]. 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 we were before ever calling upon Him; surely He is the All-benign, the All-compassionate.' 28
