(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say thou: wait verily I am, with you, among the waiters. 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful. 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou a hire from them so that they are with debt laden? 40 Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? 41 Or are they contriving a stratagem against you? If so, that stratagem will rebound against the unbelievers. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 Wait patiently for the command of your Lord. We are watching over you. Glorify your Lord when you rise during the night 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
