Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Does their reason tell them to say this or is it because they are a rebellious people? 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Or were they created without there being anything, or are they the creators? 35 Or is it they who created the heavens and the earth? No; the truth is that they lack sure faith. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Or have they the means by which they listen? Then let their listener bring a clear authority. 38 Does God have daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Seek they to lay a plot? Then those who disbelieve it is they who shall be plotted against. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 And were they to see a portion of the sky falling, they will say, “It is a heap of clouds.” 44 So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible - 45 the day when their guile shall avail them naught, and they shall not be helped. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 And be patient under the Judgement of your Lord, surely, you are before Our Eyes. And exalt with the praise of your Lord when you arise, 48 And in the night also hallow Him, and at the setting of the stars. 49
