Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! 30 say [to them], "Wait then: I too am waiting along with you!" -- 31 Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Has (God) daughters and they sons? 39 Or is it that you ask of them any recompense so that they should fear to be weighed down under the burden of debt? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Or do they intend a plot (against you O Muhammad SAW)? But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) are themselves in a plot! 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds. 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall (perforce) swoon (with terror),- 45 The Day when their plotting shall not avail them at all nor will they be helped (i.e. they will receive their torment in Hell). 46 And surely those who are unjust shall have a punishment besides that (in the world), but most of them do not know. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 Extol His glory at night, and at the setting of the stars. 49
