The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Star when it plunges, 1 Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, 2 Neither does he speak of his own will. 3 that [which he conveys to you] is but [a divine] inspiration with which he is being inspired 4 He was taught by one Mighty in Power, 5 and endowed with wisdom; who in time manifested himself; 6 And he is in the highest part of the horizon. 7 then he drew near, and became close 8 And was at a distance of two bows' length or (even) nearer, 9 and revealed to God's servant what he revealed. 10 The heart did not lie [about] what it saw. 11 What! So do you dispute with him regarding what he saw? 12 Indeed, he saw him another time 13 Near the Lote-tree beyond which none may pass: 14 Near which is the garden, the place to be resorted to. 15 when the lote tree was covered in mystic splendour. 16 His sight did not waver nor was it unduly bold. 17 He saw some of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have you really considered al-Lat and al-"Uzza, 19 and your third idol al-Manat (whom you considered as God's daughters)? 20 Are yours the males and His the females? 21 This is certainly an unjust apportioning. 22 these are nothing but names which you yourselves have devised, you and your forefathers. God has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord! 23 Shall man have whatever he craves? 24 But it is to Allah that the End and the Beginning (of all things) belong. 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
