The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it setteth. 1 Your Companion is neither astray nor being misled. 2 nor does he speak out of his own desire. 3 It is only an Inspiration that is inspired. 4 One of mighty powers hath taught it him. 5 One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form 6 And he is in the highest part of the horizon. 7 then came down close 8 So he was the measure of two bows or closer still. 9 Then he revealed to Allah's servant whatever he had to reveal. 10 The heart lied not in that which he saw. 11 will you, then, contend with him as to what he saw? 12 And indeed he (Muhammad SAW) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] at a second descent (i.e. another time). 13 Near Sidrat-ul-Muntaha [lote-tree of the utmost boundary (beyond which none can pass)], 14 Close to which is the Everlasting Paradise. 15 When the tree was covered with a covering, 16 The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit]. 17 He certainly saw the greatest (signs) of the existence of his Lord. 18 HAVE YOU, then, ever considered [what you are worshipping in] Al-Lat and Al-Uzza, 19 and the third one, Manat? -- 20 Why - for yourselves [you would choose only] male offspring, whereas to Him [you assign] female: 21 Behold, such would be indeed a division most unfair! 22 These [allegedly divine beings] are nothing but empty names which you have invented - you and your forefathers - [and] for which God has bestowed no warrant from on high. They [who worship them] follow nothing but surmise and their own wishful thinking - although right guidance has now indeed come unto them from their Sustainer. 23 Is the human to have whatever he fancies? 24 Nay! for Allah is the hereafter and the former (life). 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
