The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it sets: 1 Your companion (Muhammad SAW) has neither gone astray nor has erred. 2 nor speaks he out of caprice. 3 This is nothing but a revelation that is conveyed to him, 4 something that a very mighty one has imparted to him: 5 and endowed with wisdom; who in time manifested himself; 6 standing poised at the highest point on the horizon, 7 then he drew near, and became close 8 And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer. 9 and revealed to God's servant what he revealed. 10 His (Muhammad's) heart did not lie to him about what his eyes had seen. 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 Indeed he saw him a second time, 13 by the lote tree beyond which none may pass 14 Near it is the Paradise of Abode. 15 When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it]. 16 The sight turned not aside, nor it exceeded. 17 Indeed he saw some of the greatest signs of His Lord. 18 Have ye then considered Al-Lat and AL-'uzza: 19 And Manat, the third, the other? 20 Are there sons for you, and daughters for Him? 21 That, then, is an unjust division. 22 They are but names, named by you and your fathers. Allah has not sent down any authority for them. They follow conjecture and their soul's desire, eventhough the guidance of their Lord has come to them. 23 Shall man have whatsoever he wisheth for! 24 All that is in the life to come and all that is in this life belongs only to God. 25
