Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a (Prophet) like that of the ancient warners (Prophets). 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
