HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
