HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 It was He who totally destroyed the former 'Ad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
