Have you seen the one who turned away 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
