Al-Najm 3 of 3
Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 He will certainly see the result of his labor 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
