Al-Najm 3 of 3
Didst thou (O Muhammad) observe him who turned away, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the unseen, thus, he sees (all things)? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
