Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This (Muhammad SAW) is a warner (Messenger) of the (series of) warners (Messengers) of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
