HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
