Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
