HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 That a man receives but only that for which he strives; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
True are the words of God the Almighty.
