(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 Thamud, 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 He plunged the villages 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
