So did you observe him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
