(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So prostrate yourselves before God and worship him. ۩ 62
