Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 and that it is He alone who causes [you] to laugh and to weep; 43 and that it is He who makes to die, and that makes to live, 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 There hath approached the approaching Hour. 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And you laugh at it and weep not, 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
