Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and gives a little, grudgingly? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Hath he not been told of that which is in the writs of Musa. 36 and Abraham, who paid his debt in full? 37 Certainly no one will bear the responsibility of the sins of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 And that He it is Who is the Lord of Sirius; 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 and covered them with torment. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
