Seest thou one who turns back, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 and that in time [the nature of] all his striving will be shown [to him in its true light,] 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 and covered them with torment. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 while you make merry? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
