Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 While you are proudly sporting? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
True are the words of God the Almighty.
