HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 and that he shall then be fully recompensed, 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 None, except Allah, can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
