(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim who faithfully fulfilled? 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
